About NextFlex Learning Programs – 501(c)(3)
NextFlex Learning Programs (NLP, a non-profit supporting NextFlex; EIN#: 82-5058321) is the education arm of NextFlex. Its mission is to support and advance education and workforce development programs and outcomes within NextFlex and its greater U.S. hybrid electronics ecosystem. NLP’s mission is to empower individuals through innovative skill development and inclusive training to shape the workforce of the future. Our vision is to lead the way in cultivating a diverse, highly skilled workforce that is prepared to excel in the dynamic fields of advanced manufacturing and hybrid electronics, fostering innovation and growth through inclusion and adaptability.
The advanced manufacturing sector faces a significant talent shortage, with 65% of employers struggling to attract and retain employees (National Association of 4 Manufacturers, 2024). Despite federal support, the sector could leave half of the projected 3.8 million new jobs unfilled in the next decade. The Bay Area alone needs over 37,200 positions filled in critical fields (e.g., electro-mechanical, mechatronics, avionics, etc.). NLP is preparing tomorrow’s workers to tackle critical national challenges with hybrid electronics and has a strong track record of training underserved communities for highly skilled jobs (Department of Defense Manufacturing Technology Program, n.d.)
NLP brings extensive experience managing high dollar value (>5 million), multi-year projects with a large number of external partners. NLP has directly received funding from, and effectively contracted with, multiple federal agencies, including National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Office of Navy Research.
Our current fundraising effort focuses on Women in STEM Education (WISE) – inspiring the creation of more leadership and mentorship programs for women from college to mid-career.
