Education & Workforce Development Working Group

OVERVIEW

NextFlex is excited to announce the launch of its Education & Workforce Development (EWD) Working Group, modeled after its dynamic collection of Technical Working Groups. The goal of this newest body is to provide active guidance, advisement, and collaboration with NextFlex’s EWD Director & team to support strategy, scaling, and program development at NextFlex thereby enhancing its impact for learners across the country.

This group is charged with “rolling up their sleeves” and actively participating in workforce conversations with the NextFlex EWD team. It is a closely-knit and highly-involved group, where participants help identify the workforce challenges they are seeing in their ecosystems and collaboratively brainstorm solutions with the NextFlex Workforce Development team and community.

This group is instrumental in informing NextFlex’s EWD roadmap that will outline its future strategy.

Maximize NextFlex’s EWD strategy for broad impact for
stakeholders and learners
Collectively drive a national EWD strategy for advanced manufacturing and hybrid electronics
Engage in national thought leadership related to the hybrid electronics/advanced packaging/advanced manufacturing workforce

Roadmap Subgroup

This EWD Technical Working Group subgroup meets every two weeks. The objectives include:

New Growth Group Data, labor market, and qualitative data sets with an eye for what is missing or what said data means in various settings
NextFlex’s proposed key strategic priorities with measurable objectives over the next 3 years
NextFlex’s proposed KPIs aligned with the strategic priorities
NextFlex’s proposed fundraising strategyProviding Feedback to the NextFlex EWD team on the following:

K-12 subgroup

This EWD Technical Working Group subgroup meets every month. The objectives include:

Providing feedback on various NextFlex-presented FlexFactor^® sustainability plans/models which may include various implementation models, market analyses, and metrics.
Providing feedback on proposed “What’s Next” for K-12 engagement & Awareness within the K-12 population NOT INCLUDING FlexFactor
Becoming active participants in and advocates for a K-12 community of practice on the NextConnect portal

Work-Based Learning Subgroup

This EWD Technical Working Group subgroup meets every month. The objectives include:

Providing feedback on NextFlex-proposed work-based learning in the context of hybrid electronics, advanced manufacturing, and Manufacturing Innovation Institutes
Giving inputs on what national best practices currently exist with respect to work-based learning, identified gaps, unmet needs, etc.
Providing feedback on NextFlex-developed work-based learning toolkit which will reside on the NextConnect portal
