Manufacturing USA Institutes to Star in Two Upcoming October Events
As part of their mission to support manufacturing and technology companies, the Manufacturing Extension Partnerships in Massachusetts and New York have each planned regional events with support from the Department of Defense to highlight state and federal investments in manufacturing. The events are open to Institute members and nonmembers alike and seek to raise awareness and increase involvement.
MassMEP is holding its “Future of Manufacturing Symposium” in Worcester, MA, on October 4th and is intended to highlight technologies being developed by the Manufacturing USA Institutes and to discuss opportunities that exist for businesses and educational institutions. Speakers include state and national political leaders, representatives of DoD, and manufacturing institute leaders. Separate panels will discuss the focus areas for six of the Manufacturing USA Institutes, including a perspective on flexible hybrid electronics (FHE) and NextFlex by Dr. Scott Miller, director of strategic programs. Each will consider the technology, workforce, and business perspectives on institute activities.
FuzeHub, the New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership, has partnered with NYSTAR, Empire State Development’s Division of Science Technology and Innovation, to host an “Emerging Technology Showcase” at the NYSTAR annual meeting on October 23rd and 24th in Syracuse, NY. The event will provide a forum for participants to learn about advanced manufacturing activities, as well as opportunities for their organizations to tap into investments made by the state and federal government. Speakers from NYSTAR, DoD, DoE, and NIST will be featured, as well as briefings by seven of the Manufacturing USA Institutes, including an update on FHE and NextFlex by–once again–Dr. Miller. Breakout sessions on several cross-cutting application spaces will feature speakers including NextFlex members located in NY.
Attendance is encouraged at these events so please do visit the websites to learn more and to register.
