NextFlex Names Jason Marsh Director of Technology
February 2, 2016 – San Jose, California – NextFlex is pleased to announce that Jason Marsh has been appointed as director of technology.
Marsh will develop and implement technical direction and strategy, chairing and managing the Technical Council, roadmapping, leading project calls and promoting the Institute to the greater flexible hybrid electronics industry.
“Jason brings world-class experience with product management and global manufacturing operations. Most recently at Insulectro, he was responsible for driving strategic roadmaps, new product development and commercialization strategies for a variety of electronic materials including printed electronics and both rigid and flexible circuits with industry partners like DuPont, Isola, Saint Gobain and others. He has knowledge of the reliability implications of materials selection and process methodologies for flexible circuits. His leadership in manufacturing in China and Malaysia, along with his business development experience, will be an invaluable asset,” said Dr. Malcolm Thompson, NextFlex executive director.
With a background in materials science, robotics and automation, Marsh’s work with companies, such as Kyocera, has taken him across the globe to China, India, Germany, Mexico, Japan and Malaysia. His vision is to see manufacturing companies thrive in the US and to focus on the requirements needed to keep US-based manufacturing operations differentiated and globally competitive.
“Over the past decade and a half, we have seen a significant percentage of the manufacturing of our technology products move overseas. However, America is a great innovation hub. NextFlex will allow us to play to our strengths and change the game by introducing technology,” said Marsh. “NextFlex and the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation are designed to do exactly that, and I am very enthusiastic about the opportunity to be a part of bringing high value-add manufacturing jobs back to the United States.”
Marsh succeeds interim director, Dr. John Batey, and will report to Dr. Thompson. He joins NextFlex’s growing executive team roster, also comprised of Dennis Mahoney, director of operations, Paul Semenza, director of commercialization, and Guy Brynt Parmeter, director of education and workforce training.
