Calling All Tech Visionaries and ‘Big Idea’ People

Along with developing the workforce of the future and promoting a sustainable advanced manufacturing ecosystem, NextFlex is also focused on accelerating flexible electronics technology innovation and commercialization through pre-competitive partnerships.

Via a series of Project Calls that provide cash awards to proposal teams for development projects that are critical to hybrid electronics (HE) manufacturing, NextFlex underwrites up to 50% of the development costs of selected projects. The Project Call process follows a structured selection process and rigorous oversight methodology to ensure diversity and breadth in the selection of projects funded.

Project Call topics are generated under the guidance of the NextFlex Technical Council, working in concert with the Technical Working Groups tasked to develop technology roadmaps for flexible hybrid electronics. Project proposals are then reviewed by the Council to be approved by the NextFlex Governing Council.

NextFlex and its members are currently focused on manufacturing methods that fall into the categories of conformable, stretchable, and flexible electronics with an emphasis on applications combining silicon and flexible/stretchable/conformable systems and a significant component of additive manufacturing as part of the design.
